Ulunda Baker never envisioned a future with entrepreneurial success. At the age of 8 years old she followed in tow with a trash bag full of clothes as her mother traveled to Florida from their hometown and all they knew. The oldest of 7 children, Ulunda watch her single mom struggle to care for her and her siblings. Between initial homelessness and constant moving around, her life seemed destined for struggles and failures. But from these humble beginnings and determination to never quit; at 34 years old she has had a 14 year successful career in Corporate America with companies like Ceridian Benefit Services, Duke Energy, and Jones Lang Lasalle. She has successfully launched two small businesses from the ground up launching her first one just 5 years ago. She is the Founder of UBsmart, Inc. a nationwide Career Coaching and Resume group. She is also a fully licensed Real Estate agent in NC. In addition to running her own businesses, she is intentional about mentorship and coaching others who are striving to overcome adversities and find success. She has served with numerous non-profits throughout Charlotte area since moving here six years ago. She resides with her husband Richard and three sons. They attend Transformation Church and live by these guiding principles; Faith, Family, Finances, Education and Service.
One of the most important principles she lives by is,
“When you come from nothing you have a clean slate to make something of your own. Surround yourself with people who mean you well. Take every opportunity to be in the midst of successful people, be generous with your time and treasures and most importantly never give up.”
